BUILD-OPERATE-TRANSFER CONTRACT
Arrangement in which the private sector builds and operates the facility, then relinquishes the ownership to the government. In most cases, the government is the company’s sole customer and pledges to acquire at least a preset amount of its output. The agreement aims to ensure the company recovers its initial investment over a sound time span.
