CASH COST
Cash basis accounting process classifying costs as they are paid in cash and recognizing it in the general ledger at the point of sale. It occurs when a business pays using cash or checks, but not credit. Credit costs paid would not be logged in the general ledger until the actual cash payment has been received. Opposite of accrual cost recognition method.
