Index quantifying the weight of insurance claims due to major disasters. Third party companies created CLI to research natural disasters and work on giving estimates of the amount of losses from every calamity. Often used by insurance firms, it checks or supplements their internal endeavors to evaluate the firm’s expected claims from such occurrences.
