CERTIFIED CHECK
Check in which the issuing bank guarantees payment. The bank assures the recipient of the check there is enough cash available in the holder’s account ready for transfer once it is used. It also checks the account holder’s signature is legitimate. Normally, these are given in occurrences where the recipient is uncertain on the creditworthiness of the holder and does not want the check to bounce.
