CLINTON BOND
Debt investment with no interest, principal, and maturity value. It refers to former US President Bill Clinton’s low interest rate policies in which bondholders lose substantial amount of money early in his term. Inflation fears caused yields to escalate temporarily, hence the collapse of the bond market. However, these fears were invalid as Clinton opt to balance the budget instead of escalating the federal deficit, letting bond prices to recoup.
