CLOSED TO NEW INVESTORS
Mutual funds and hedge funds that do not accept investments from new investors. Although closed to new investors, existing ones are allowed to add their holdings. It arises in the event a fund has already attracted huge inflows from investors over a time period, normally due to successful investment performance. Fund managers believe continued performance may become too difficult to manage.
