CONTEMPORANEOUS RESERVES
Bank reserve accounting obligating a bank to maintain sufficient reserves to shoulder all deposits made on the current week. This method is designed to cut down short-term monetary fluctuations. Between 1984 and 1998, the Federal Reserve imposed contemporaneous reserves among banks.
