CONTINGENCY CLAUSE
Contract provision permitting the cancellation of contract without penalty if the party fails to comply with the requirements in the contact. This clause requires a certain event or action to occur to consider the contract valid. Considered an escape clause for entities in the contract, it entails a condition for contract performance.
