CONVERTIBLE SECURITY
Investment which can be converted into another form. Convertible bonds or convertible preferred stock are the most common convertible securities; these can be changed into common stock or equity. Such security pays a fixed amount periodically as a coupon payment (convertible bonds) or a preferred dividend (convertible preferred shares). It also indicates the price at which this can be changed into common stock.
