Main strengths or advantages of a business. Core competencies of a business include set of skills, expertise, processes, and relationships, among others. These are unique to an organization, allowing them to have an edge in the marketplace. It should allow a firm to flourish by expanding into new markets and providing significant benefit to consumers. Stemming from the talents of a firm’s founders, core competencies should be difficult for rivals to duplicate.
