CO-TENANCY CLAUSE
Provision in retail lease contracts allowing tenants to get a remedy in rent from landlord should key tenants or a particular number of tenants leave the space. Huge or key tenant draws big traffic especially in malls, frequently one of the main reasons a tenant decides to move from the mall. This clause provides protection to the tenant through rent reduction or release from lease obligations.
