CUMULATIVE DIVIDEND
Aggregate amount a publicly traded company must pay to preferred shareholders without accounting its earnings or profitability. Should a company fail to remit a cumulative dividend on or before its due date, it will incur an interest and should be paid before the dividends can be given to common shareholders.
