CURRENCY BOARD
Monetary authority or organization deciding on the valuation of a country’s currency, specifically to keep the value of a currency level with another. The board allows limitless exchange of the local and pegged currency in respect to the other. Serving a similar function to a central bank, the entity can only generate the interest earned on the foreign reserves themselves. The rates then mirror the prevailing rates in the foreign currency.
