CURRENCY CARRY TRADE
Strategy in which an investor sells a specific currency with a relatively low interest rate, which uses the funds to acquire a different currency generating a greater interest rate. The trader seeks to obtain the spread between these rate, frequently substantial, depending on the amount of leverage placed.
