CYCLICAL RISK
Risk of business or economic cycles that adversely affect the investment’s returns or a firm’s profits. Such perils exist because the economy has been moving in cycles - peak performance, downturns, and troughs. Investments may decline in value between the peak and trough of a business to reflect economic uncertainty. It is also tied to inflationary risks as certain investors consider inflation as cyclical in nature.
