DISTRESS TERMINATION
Act of cutting down the employee base in the event the firm has insufficient funds to cover the costs relative to paying their earned benefits. It takes place when a company can no longer stay in the business, or the entity tries to avoid or defer closing. All activities will end upon terminating the plan, including benefit accruals and vesting.
