Firm operating multiple, unrelated businesses. Unrelated business require distinct management expertise, have several end consumers, and manufacture various products or offer different services. One advantage of a diversified company is it buffers the firm from drastic fluctuations in any industry sector. But this model is less likely to allow stockholders to realize significant gains or losses since it is not concentrated on one business.
