LIVING WILL
A legal document that specifies what an individual (principal) does or does not want should he or she becomes terminally ill or incapable of communicating his or her wishes. This document is written while the principal or testator is alive. It usually sets out the principal’s wishes on the medical care and degree of medical intervention. Most states in the US will accept living wills although these are considered insufficient in some cases.
