DOUBLE-SPENDING
Peril a single digital currency can be spent twice. This is a distinct problem in digital currencies since digital information can be reproduced easily. The digital currency holder can create a copy the digital token and send it to another party while keeping the original copy. Bitcoin has this concern initially since the cryptocurrency is decentralized with no central agency to validate this is spent once. But bitcoin has a mechanism based on transaction logs to verify the authenticity of every transaction and prevent double-counting.
