DRY POWDER
Slang term for marketable securities considered cash-like and is highly liquid. It may also pertain to cash reserves stored on hand to shoulder future obligations or purchase assets. Securities considered dry powder include Treasuries or other fixed income instruments, which can be liquidated on short notice, to obtain emergency operational funding or to allow investors to acquire securities.
