DUAL CLASS STOCK
Issuance of various shares by a single firm. This structure may be comprised of various stock classes. Each class has separate voting rights and dividend payments. Companies normally issue two share classes: for the general public and for company founders, executives, and family. The class being given to the public has limited voting rights. Conversely, the class offered to founders and executives has greater voting power and majority control of the firm.
