ECONOMIC RENT
Excess payment made to or a factor of production over and more than the amount expected by the owner. It pertains to the positive difference between the actual payment made for a production element to its owner and the payment level the owner expected due to its exclusivity or scarcity. It emerges because of market imperfections.
