ELECTRONIC CHECK PRESENTMENT - ECP
Digital transfer of check information to the paying bank instead of paper to speed up the check cashing process. The Check Clearing for the 21st Century Act allows financial institutions to use electronic check presentment (ECP), saving them from the cost of sending checks and storage of these checks, aside from a better customer service.
