EMERGING MARKETS BOND INDEX - EMBI
Benchmark index gauging the total return performance of foreign government bonds issued by emerging market nations, which are considered sovereign, and also complied precise liquidity and structural requirements. J.P. Morgan Emerging Bond Index (EMBI) and EMBI+ are the most well-known indexes. EMBI+ gauges both Brady bonds and other sovereign debt while the EMBI measure only Brady bonds. To be eligible for index membership, the debt must be over a year to maturity, over $500 million outstanding, and meet rigorous trading guidelines to guarantee pricing inefficiencies don’t influence the index.
