EMPIRICAL RULE
Statistical rule denoting nearly all values lie within three standard deviations of the mean for a normal distribution. When broken down, the rule demonstrates 68% will fall within first standard deviation; 95%, first two standard deviations, and 99.7%, first three standard mean deviations. Also called Three Sigma Rule or the 69-95-99.7 Rule.
