EQUITY RISK PREMIUM
Excess return a single stock or the overall stock market renders a risk-free rate. It compensates investors for taking up the rather higher risk of the equity market. The size of the premium will differ as the risk of a specific stock or the overall stock market changes. High-risk investments are paid with a greater premium. Also called equity premium.
