EXEMPT INCOME
Certain kinds or amounts of income not subject to federal income tax. Some of the examples of exempt income are income from the municipal bond income, some parts of retirement benefits, interest paid on mortgages, qualified Roth IRA distributions, and academic scholarships. It is also applicable to gifts less than $10,000 and some death benefits.
