EXPEDITED FUNDS AVAILABILITY ACT - EFAA
An Act implemented to standardize the hold periods on deposits made to commercial banks and regulate financial institutions’ usage of the holds. Enacted by the US Congress in 1897, it also defines the types of banks that can use a check deposit, depending on the account type and deposit amount.
