FLASH FREEZE
Flash freeze refers to an abrupt shutdown in trading activity on an exchange. The term was first used to the sudden outage on the Nasdaq on August 22, 213, which stopped trading activities for 3 hours. Flash freeze may occur due to system overload, faulty software, and even hacking.
