GERARD J. ARPEY
Former Chairman, President, and Chief Executive Officer of AMR Corp. and American Airlines. He first joined American Airlines in 1982 as a financial analyst and held several management positions before he became the chief executive. During his tenure, he helped the firm recoup from a scandal under its previous CEO and avoided bankruptcy. He is also a private pilot with an FAA multi-engine instrument rating.
