GOVERNMENT GRANT
Financial award granted to a qualified grantee by the federal, state, or local government. Recipients are not expected to repay the grants. But it does not include technical assistance or other forms of financial assistance such as loan or loan guarantee, direct appropriation, interest rate subsidy, or revenue sharing. Normally, it entails a lengthy application process to become eligible and be approved for such grant. Most recipients are mandated to submit reports periodically on their progress.
