GRANDFATHERED ACTIVITIES
Nonbank or nonconforming activities, usually some are not prohibited for bank holding firms and international banks in the United States, but were acquired or took on before a certain date and subject to the older rules. These activities can still be done in the grandfather provisions under the Bank Holding Company Act and the International Banking Act of 1978.
