GREEN CARD
Permit issued by US Citizenship and Immigration Services, allowing individuals to reside and work in the United States permanently. An informal term for United States Permanent Resident Card, its original color was green from 1946 to 1964, and the color returned in 2010. Permanent residents of the US age 18 and above must bring their green card at all time to avoid violating Section 264(e) of the Immigration and Nationality Act.
