GROSS ACRES
Total number of acres a company holds. It is in contrast to net acres if a firm shares its working interest with another firm or companies. The firm’s real interest is expressed in net acres, percentage interest, multiplied by the gross acreage. In case the firm has the whole working interest, its gross acreage and net acreage are the same.
