GUARANTEED INVESTMENT FUND - GIF
Investment product offered by life insurance companies, which permits its client to invest in an equity, bond, and/or index fund while pledging some predefined minimum fund value, normally the initial investment amount, will be made available at the fund’s maturity or when the client passes away. Usually, these companies charge up to 1% of the investment amount per year for this service.
