GUNNAR MYRDAL
Swedish economist, sociologist, and politician who received the 1974 Nobel Memorial Prize in Economics, alongside Austrian-British economist Friedrich Hayek, for applying economics to problems in social, demographic, and institution. Myrdal’s research focused on applied economics, developmental economics, economic theory, and social problems.
