INDENTURED SERVITUDE
Situation of European immigrants transferred to American colonies who worked for landowners and were held property. In exchange for until seven years of working, their master pay for their board, room, travel, and freedom dues for the immigrants. Some of them had received salaries for their work. This was broadly used in early 1600s in British colonies in North America and other places.
