INDEX OF ECONOMIC FREEDOM
Annual ranking of countries or states which gauges the degree of economic freedom based on the number and intensity of government regulations on wealth-creating activity. Made by The Heritage Foundation and the Wall Street Journal, it includes government spending relative to GDP, occupational licensing requirements, international trade restrictions, private property rights, minimum wage laws and other government-controlled factors which influence individual’s capability to earn an income and maintain that income.
