INDEXED ARM
Adjustable-rate mortgages (ARMs) where the interest rate changes periodically based on the value of an underlying benchmark index plus a margin. It states the index to be used, how frequent the interest rate will adjust and normally sets a cap on the maximum amount the interest rate can adjust upward over the course of the mortgage. Some ARMs also have limits on the amount the interest rate can change at every interest rate adjustment date.
