INDIRECT ROLLOVER
Process of transferring assets from a tax-deferred 401(k) plan to a conventional individual retirement account (IRA). In indirect rollover, the funds are actually given to the employee through the check to be deposited into their personal account. Then, it is up to the employee to redeposit the money into the new IRA within 60 days to avoid penalty.
