INITIAL RATE PERIOD
Time period of an introductory or teaser rate on a mortgage or other loan. The period varies from one loan to another. It can be short as one month or long as many years. Certain loans, such as 2-1 or 3-2-1 buydown mortgages, the initial rate increases incrementally.
