INTERNALIZATION
A transaction within a company rather than in the open market. It can be applied to a multinational company shifting assets between subsidiaries cross border. In investing, it pertains to the brokerage firm’s decision to fill a buy order for security shares from its own inventory of shares rather than looking at executing the trade using outside inventory.
