INTERPOSITIONING
Unlawful practice in a securities transaction by adding another broker or dealer as a principal on a single trade without rendering service. Normally, it is a portion of a mutual benefit strategy, which sends commissions to the broker or dealer in return for referrals or additional commission. This behavior normally happens at the upper levels of trade between specialists and hedge funds, broker or dealer, or other institutional accounts.
