INVERSE CORRELATION
A contrary relationship between two variables in such they move in polar directions. For instance, with variables A and B, when A climbs, B declines. Conversely, when A drops, B rises. In statistics, it is indicated by the correlation coefficient r with a value from -1 and 0, with r = -1, which denotes perfect inverse correlation. Also called negative correlation.
