INVESTMENT POLICY STATEMENT - IPS
A written document, between a portfolio manager and an investor, that explains general rules for the former. The document gives information on the overall investment goals and objectives of an investor and describes the methods the manager should utilize to reach these objectives. Specific details such as asset allocation, liquidity, and risk tolerance, are also included in an IPS.
