A product purchased by an investor in order to generate a favorable return. An investment product can either produce income or be speculative. There are various investment products to choose from such as bonds, stocks, futures, options, mutual funds, certificates of deposit (CDs), exchange-traded funds (ETFs), annuities, and money market investments, among others.
