INVOLUNTARY FORECLOSURE
Refers to an act the lender initiates procedures on taking possession of the house and selling it to regain the debt in the event a borrower defaults on a home mortgage loan. Normally, the borrower still becomes liable for the entire amount of the debt. If the house sells for less than the amount the borrower owed on the mortgage, the borrower may be mandated to settle the remaining balance.
