IRS PUBLICATION 600
A document that gives information on reducing state and local general sales from federal income tax. The publication, published by the Internal Revenue Services (IRS), was created as an appendix to Schedule A to address the Tax Relief and Health Care Act of 2006 that was constituted following the instructions for Schedule A were printed. The said act permitted taxpayers to elect to list state and local sales, instead of state and local income taxes, but not both, as enumerated deductions.
