JAMES R. CROSBY

Former Chief Executive Officer of HBOS Plc from 1998 to 2006. His career started when he worked with Scottish Amicable in 1977. He then transferred to Halifax Building Society as a managing direction. When he joined Halifax, Crosby helped the company to become a wider financial services company through acquiring two insurance companies. In 2001, he negotiated the merger between Halifax and the Bank of Scotland, hence the creation of HBOS. HBOS became a leader in its 2003 although it suffered from financial trouble in 2002 for bad loans. When it collapsed in 2008, Lloyds TSB took over HBOS in 2009 that formed Lloyds Banking Group.
