JINGLE MAIL
A situation where a property owner send his or her house keys to a mortgage lender because of his or her inability to meet mortgage payment obligations and a lack of equity in the property. If the homeowner is upside-down in a mortgage and feels the whole loan is a lost cause, he or she can walk away from the property and surrender it to the original lender instead of going through the foreclosure process.
